The benefits of polished concrete floor
The polished concrete floors we install are as beautiful with natural stone. They are also light reflective, meaning that they help project a bright, clean image and reduces the need for artificial lighting requirements. There are a wide range of dyes available which can be applied to offer a choice of look and colour.
Traditional floor covering materials are not necessary when the slab on grade is used as the finished floor surface.
Polished concrete floors have a lengthy lifespan and can hold up really well in high traffic areas. These floors are not as durable to damage as other materials and do not need replacing.
For commercial clients, it’s important to note that the polished surface of concrete resists the marks of forklift truck tyres and stains incurred from oil or chemical spills.
It’s important to note that polished concrete floors do not allow the breeding of mould or allergens. They also don’t harbour dust or dirt which allows for easy cleaning. The only thing that is required is the occasional damp mopping.
There is also no need to apply messy waxes or coatings, which helps save you money in the long term.
Our concrete polishing service
The process of polishing concrete is in many ways very similar to sanding wood.
Our top of the range machines are equipped with diamond-segmented abrasives which are used to grind down concrete surfaces to the desired degree of design and shine.
During the process, we apply a densifier/hardener to the concrete which penetrates the surface and creates a chemical reaction which in turn helps harden and dust-proof the surface.
We also apply a sealer to the floor to help protect against any accidental damage or spills.
